After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, I embarked on a dynamic career journey that has allowed me to hone my skills in technical documentation and project management. Early in my career, I served as a Technical Publication Specialist at Northrop Grumman and Engineered Support Systems, Inc (ESSI), where I played a pivotal role in editing technical order manuals.
Relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, I contributed as a technical writer for ACS, collaborating on a contract job for the Tennessee Department of Health and Human Services. During this tenure, I developed expertise in documentation design and project management while presenting in joint application development (JAD) sessions.
Subsequently, I joined Siemens Energy as a contractor, dedicating two years to updating and editing user guides and operation manuals for power grids and substations while gaining proficiency in the Linux platform. I also worked with a team abroad on DITA-XML document transformations.
My fintech chapter spanned a decade, during which I served as a technical writer and quality assurance analyst. I meticulously crafted user guides, installation, and operation guides, and release notes utilizing Adobe FrameMaker, RoboHelp, and Microsoft Word. This role allowed me to work at the intersection of technical communication and quality assurance.
In my most recent endeavors at Abacus Insights within the healthcare data analytics domain, I’ve been a dedicated technical writer. Over the past couple of years, I’ve created integration and user guides, data dictionaries, and release notes using Madcap Flare. Additionally, I’ve collaborated on GitLab, Databricks, and Snowflake, expanding my toolkit and skill set.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with diverse teams, technologies, and tools. My passion lies in the art of simplifying complex information and transforming it into accessible and user-friendly content. I take pride in my ability to distill challenging concepts into easily understandable topics, contributing to the success of those teams and projects.
